NATURE PROGRAMS FOR KIDS

WTI is proud to host the Lee Kirchhevel's Junior Naturalist series of classes, providing children opportunities to connect
with nature by participating in hands-on outdoor activities.  Experiences in nature encourage children to become aware of
and appreciate the wonder and beauty of the natural world. Learning to be attentive in nature through fun sensory
awareness activities can also enhance study skills (i.e., attention to detail, focus, analysis, importance of silence) and
promote community awareness (i.e., cooperation, interdependence, acceptance, wise use of resources). Give your child a
chance to develop a love for the outdoors!

A wise philosopher once said,
“I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.” The Jr. Naturalist classes
encourage children to actively engage themselves in nature experiences, which enhance the learning process.  By
participating in these classes, children can cultivate a sense of confidence and awareness as they discover the natural
wonders that await them outside their front door.
